CHESTER pulled off another shock in this season's FA Youth Cup after reaching the second round proper with a superb win over Barnsley.
After previously dispatching Sandbach United, Marine, Wrexham and Hartlepool United, the game with Barnsley U18s saw the young Blues come up against a side whose senior team play in Sky Bet League One

But thanks to two first half goals in four minutes at the Swansway Stadium from Will Goodwin and Cain Noble, the Blues gained a 2-1 lead over their Yorkshire opponents at the break after the Tykes had gone in front through Kareem Hassan-Smith on the half hour mark.
A red card for Barnsley’s goal scorer midway inside the second half gave the Blues a man advantage and they saw the game out in front of a crowd of 648 to add Barnsley to a list including Fleetwood Town, Bolton Wanderers, Wrexham and Hartlepool United, who have fallen to the young Chester side in recent seasons.
The Blues will now travel to Mansfield Town in the final stage of the competition before clubs from the Premier League and Championship enter at the third round proper stage.
