WORCESTERSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

PUBLIC NOTICE

WORCESTERSHIRE MINERALS LOCAL PLAN: RECEIPT OF INSPECTORS' REPORT

Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (as amended)

Notice of publication of the recommendations of the appointed person

Worcestershire County Council has now received the Inspectors' Report on the Examination of the Worcestershire Minerals Local Plan ("the MLP"). This concludes the independent examination of the MLP.

The Inspectors have determined that the duty to cooperate has been met and that other legal requirements have been complied with. Their report concludes that, provided the Main Modifications which the Inspectors recommend are made, the MLP provides an appropriate basis for the planning of minerals for Worcestershire and is sound. Worcestershire County Council will now consider the Inspectors' Report and whether to adopt the MLP with the recommended Main Modifications.

A recommendation will be considered by Cabinet on 26 May 2022, followed by consideration at a full Council meeting on 14 July 2022. If the Council resolves to adopt the MLP including the Inspectors' recommended Main Modifications, the MLP will replace the remaining "saved" policies in the County of Hereford and Worcester Minerals Local Plan from 1997. The MLP will become part of the Development Plan (alongside Development Plan Documents adopted by the County Council and the City, Borough and District Councils in Worcestershire, and adopted Neighbourhood Plans in the county).

The MLP will be used by Worcestershire County Council's planning officers and Planning and Regulatory Committee to make decisions about planning applications for mineral extraction, processing and restoration. It will also be used by the City, Borough and District Councils to ensure other types of development do not sterilise mineral resources or negatively impact mineral infrastructure.

More information about the Worcestershire Minerals Local Plan, together with a copy of the Inspectors' Report (including the Schedule of Main Modifications), can be found on the "emerging Minerals Local Plan" page on Worcestershire County Council's website at

www.worcestershire.gov.uk/minerals

. The Inspectors' Report can also be inspected at County Hall reception (Spetchley Road, Worcester, WR5 2NP), during normal office hours and at public libraries in Worcestershire (opening hours at
