The Borough of Blackburn with Darwen (Whalley New Road, Blackburn) (No.2)(A119, A666) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2019

NOTICE is hereby given that the Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, intend to make the above Order under Section 14(1 )(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order is to close A6119, A666 Whalley New Road from its junction with Opal Street to its junction with Haston Lee Avenue.

The closure is necessary for the following reason: Planning and surfacing works The Order will come into force on 12th August 2019 and shall continue in force for a period of eighteen months or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier. However, it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 30th August 2019. The alternative route for the affected traffic will be via: Whalley New Road, Lark Hill, Barbara Castle Way, Preston New Road, Yew Tree Drive and Ramsgreave Drive and vice versa.

Alternatively via Whalley New Road, Ramsgreave Road, Higher Ramsgreave Road, Mellor Lane, Church Lane, Mire Ash Brow, Preston New Road, Yew Tree Drive and Ramsgreave Drive and vice versa.

Alternatively via Whalley New Road, Lark Hill, Barbara Castle Way, Preston New Road, Mire Ash Brow, Church Lane, Mellor Lane, Higher Ramsgreave Road, Ramsgreave Road and Whalley New Road and vice versa. Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times.
