A driver stopped because he was using his mobile phone behind the wheel in Chester was also banned from driving.
Jarle Haugsdal, 51, of Fox Lane, Waverton, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and using a mobile phone while driving when he appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 30.
Prosecuting, Lisa Maguire said Haugsdal was stopped in a Toyota Aygo on Liverpool Road, Chester, on April 2.
His driving ban was active until June, and he had no previous convictions.
Defending, Adam Antoszkiw said the driving ban had come from a totting up procedure.
The defendant works as a marine engineer, the court heard, which involved travelling across the world dealing with ships when they have broken down.
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report and Haugsdal was unconditionally bailed to appear back at the magistrates court on May 30.
