IT was a sight to behold as more than 200 scooters made their way over the Old Dee Bridge on their mission to deliver Easter eggs to poorly children at the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Organiser Tracey Griffiths, of the Chester Scooter Club, told the Leader it was the best turnout in the event’s 14 year history.
Backed again by the Grosvenor Arms pub in Handbridge, landlady Pat Wild made sure the riders were well fed and watered before they rolled out on their journey.
Pub regulars and members of more than 12 scooter clubs donated chocolate eggs and cuddly toys for the youngsters to enjoy on the hospital’s children’s ward.
Tracey said: “This was the best yet; it was absolutely amazing. It’s been growing year on year but this was more than we could ever have asked for.
“I’d like to thank all the scooter clubs for attending and hopefully long may it continue. It’s a great cause.”
Pat added: “I’m over the moon with how it went.
“The weather was fantastic which definitely helped, and everyone was so generous and had a great time.”
