Cheshire Phoenix coach Ben Thomas insists 'nothing has been decided yet' as his side pursue an unlikely BBL Championship play-off spot.

Two impressive Nix wins coupled with three successive defeats for Sheffield Sharks means the battle for the final top eight berth will be decided in the final weekend of fixtures.

Against the odds, Thomas' side have kept their hopes of an extended season alive by defeating league champions Leicester Riders before beating Plymouth Raiders on the road 24 hours later.

Currently ninth in the table, the Nix now require victories in both of their remaining games against Worcester Wolves and London Lions.

Meanwhile, the Nix will hope that Sheffield slip-up in their remaining games against Glasgow Rocks and Plymouth.

Thomas said: "We're still in there fighting and we know that nothing has been decided yet.

"Our recent results have given us every chance of getting there, but we know it's going to be massively tough.

"Obviously we've got a bit of history with Worcester, who we beat in the cup. They're already calling this a grudge match and will be out for a bit of revenge I'm sure.

"Then there's London, who are going brilliantly well and are still battling it out for second place, which would give them a home draw in the first play-off.

"Then there's Sheffield who have hit a bit of a dip in form and face a solid Glasgow team before heading to Plymouth, which we know already is difficult.

"So it's going to be very tough for us, but our playoff chances are alive and we'll continue to keep working hard in the games we've got left and see what happens."

Nix forward Raheem May-Thompson has been in scintillating form, netting 46 points in the last two games to inspire back-to-back wins.

He will spearhead the Nix attack once more, with the dribbling and passing skills of influential point guard Robert Sandoval also likely to be key.

Championship action starts tonight as Bristol Flyers host Leeds Force, while Plymouth head north to face Newcastle Eagles.

Play-off qualifiers Surrey Scorchers visit Leicester tomorrow, when London host lowly Manchester Giants.

Sunday's final round of games sees Surrey host Newcastle, Leeds host Leicester, Worcester head to Glasgow and Manchester host Bristol.
