Cheshire Phoenix can afford no more 'slip-ups' in their pursuit of a BBL Championship play-off spot, according to coach Ben Thomas.

Since their glorious BBL Cup triumph in January, the Nix's erratic form has jeopardised their prospects of a top eight finish this term.

The slump in results has seen the Nix collect just four victories from their last 13 Championship games, with a 91-82 defeat at play-off rivals Bristol Flyers last weekend proving particularly damaging.

And while the Nix bounced back with a home win over Plymouth Riders a day later - they remain ninth and four points adrift of the play-off places heading into Sunday's home clash with Glasgow Rocks.

Thomas said: "We've certainly made things more difficult for ourselves in terms of our run-in, with the final seven games ahead of us in April.

"But I've stressed to the players that they can't sit around and dwell on the games that haven't gone our way.

"We know we can't slip-up any more now, but there's still plenty of points to play for between now and the end of the season.

"Yes, what happened at Bristol was a setback and has probably given them the upper hand now, but we showed good character to bounce back with a solid win against Plymouth after clawing back the lead in te game.

"That has to give us confidence heading into the game against Glasgow who have had a lot of changes at the club this season but have reinforced with a lot of quality too."

Thomas is boosted by the solid form of duo Robert Sandoval and Malcolm Riley who both made it into the Championship's All-Star Five team this week.

With added competition after the recent arrival of Elvisi Dusha, the Nix guard posted one of his best lines of the season against The Raiders.

He featured prominently in the comeback win by registering a near triple-double of 24 points, 9 boards and 9 assists.

Riley was similarly impressive alongside Sandoval, coming alive in the second-half as he finished the contest with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists.

Nix captain Orlan Jackman will miss the bulk of the club's Championship run-in after a coll-up to the England Commonwealth Games squad.

After missing last weekend's double-header with a knee injury, influential centre CJ Gettys will be assessed before the game.

Championship action starts tonight as Sheffield Sharks host Bristol Flyers, Newcastle Eagles visit London ions and Manchester Giants host Surrey Scorchers.

Basement side Leeds Force head to Sheffield on Sunday, while London entertain leaders Leicester Riders.
