Todd Reid has challenged his Upton AA players to 'build momentum' heading into their final run of Division One fixtures.

Upton head into Wednesday evening's clash at Heswall buoyed by a 5-1 success at Marshalls, with the club now pursuing a top half finish.

Currently 10th with seven league games remaining, Upton's form has been patchy so far this term and Reid is now determined to see his side finish with a flourish.

He said: "It's vital that we build on a really strong performance against Marshalls and it's good that we're heading to Heswall full of confidence.

"We looked so strong in attack at the weekend and we need to show that again by putting some dangerous balls into the box and converting the chances we create.

"It feels like we've affected more than most other clubs by postponements and so we've got some catching up to do on the teams above us.

"We've also got the Senior Cup final waiting for us after this run of league games so it's vital that we build some momentum, not just for the final, but to push ourselves as high up the table as we can."

Stephen Rowlands will spearhead the Upton attack once more after bagging a hat-trick against Marshalls.

Chester Nomads are now nine points clear of the relegation places after collecting two wins from their last three games.

But tonight they host a Newton side that dealt out a 5-2 defeat in the reverse fixture three weeks ago.

Leaders South Liverpool are at home to Marshalls, while second-placed Vauxhall Motors entertain struggling West Kirby.

Basement side Mallaby go to Maghull while free-scoring Mossley Hill Athletic travel to Ashville.

Chester Nomads Reserves have home advantage in their Division Three clash with mid-table rivals Page Celtic.
