Former Chester manager Neil Young has become the latest figure to leave his role with the crisis-hit club.
Young, brought in as a voluntary advisor on footballing matters last month, is understood to have informed Chester’s board of his decision on Monday morning.
The hugely popular former boss, who led Chester to three successive titles when the club reformed back in 2010, was in attendance at Monday’s 1-0 away defeat at Macclesfield Town but has decided to leave the club.
The decision comes in the wake of the club’s decision to announce Marcus Bignot’s contract as first-team manager will not be extended past the end of the current season, and follows the resignations of two board members on Monday night, City Fans United chairman Simon Olorenshaw and Mark Howell.
