Chester defender James Jones made his England C debut on Tuesday night in a 3-2 victory away at Wales C.

The 19-year-old centre-back was rewarded for a string of fine performances in the heart of Chester's defence this season with a call-up from non-league Three Lions boss Paul Fairclough, and came on as a 73rd minute substitute for Kidderminster's Fraser Horsfall.

Dagenham and Redbridge striker Fejiri Okenabirhie - who scored against the Blues last month in a 3-2 win - bagged a hat-trick in the success at Jenner Park, Barry, with Mark Jones and Chris Venables replying for the host nation.

Jones is the first product of Chester's academy to be called into the England C squad, after previous appearances for Ben Heneghan, Kingsley James and James Alabi.

The teenager - who has been offered a new contract to remain with the Blues for next season - will be back in action with Chester away at Sutton United on Saturday.
