A BUSY WEEKEND AT THE ROODEE - Chester racecourse stage their second evening meeting of the month tomorrow night, writes ARTHUR SHONE.
This will be the first day of their two day fixture this weekend and new communications manager Rob Marsh said: "We have named the fixture The Midsummer Meeting and we are very excited about it.

"There is availability in all enclosures tomorrow night. However that is not the case on Saturday as we are sold out in the County Stand and Tatts, and have been for the last few weeks now, but there is still availability in the Dee Stand and the Open course."

Chester based clerk of the course Ed Gretton lists the going as good to firm and racing comes under starters orders at 6.45pm with the boys race, which is the Betfair Apprentice Training Series Handicap over seven furlongs.

David Evans has a good record at Chester and he can get readers off to a good start with his charge Wahoo Sam, who finished third to the useful Choreography at Brighton last time out, and goes into this race with a real chance in a race that will not take much winning.

One of the feature races on the card is Renault.co.uk handicap over seven furlongs. Horses for courses certainly applies to the Roodee and Eric Alston's course and distance winner No Grouse can follow up his recent neck victory over Forzari at Hamilton 10 days ago. I would recommend a saver on the Wallace trained Manchurian who goes into this race off a very handy mark.

Sir Mark Prescott provides the banker bet of the evening g with Algarade(Nap) in the Renault Liverpool EBF Fillies Handicap over a mile and a quarter, the filly made a winning return to the racecourse after an absence of 301 days when beating Bavarica easily by a length and and half at Great Leighs.

The obvious danger is the Willie Haggas trained Storyland , a winner of two races already this season.

Cornish Rose is taken to land the spoils in Arnold Clarke Renault Maiden Auction Fillies.

The daughter of Kheleyf made an eyecatching debut at Newmarket last time, when finishing strongly into fifth after running very green, she will improve a lot from that race and can open her account at a decent price

Only four runners line up to face the judge in the Renault Manchester
Claiming stakes over six furlongs, which is a poor turn out.

Victory can go to the aptly named Fast Feet from the Kevin Ryan yard, who was beaten by Midnight Blews at Bath last time out, when the subject of some serious bets, some punters will be on a retrieving mission tomorrow.

The last race at 9.20pm is the New Laguna GT handicap over a mile and a quarter.

This can go to the Mark Johnston Always Certain who beat Maximus Aurelius going away by a length at this course earlier in the month.
