FOOTBALL: It's lucky 13 as Vaults lock up extra time victory

CHESTER SUNDAY LEAGUE - LOCK VAULTS edged a thrilling 13-10 victory after extra time at Tattenhall in the first round of the District Cup.
Tattenhall took took the Vaults to extra time after a 7-7 scoreline over 90 minutes, before going down to an incredible 13-10 defeat at the hands of the Section A visitors.
In a dramatic penalty shoot-out, home goals flowed from Martin Cocking (3), Martin Bebbington (2), Matt Dutton and Matt O'Sullivan.
Gareth Clarkson responded with eight strikes and the man of the match award for the away side, with Dave Roberts, Richie Coultard, Ollie Robinson, and Will Dodd converting the spot-kicks.
Highfield and Corner Pin contributed 19 goals between them against Anchor and Grosvenor Celtic respectively.
Chris Larson bagged a hat-trick in Highfield's 10-0 win, while Craig Russ and Lee Woodworth did likewise for the Pin in a 9-0 stroll.
At Upton High School, Ring-0-Bells produced a surprise, knocking out Section B side Waverton, with Dave Pasco collecting three goals in a 5-3 success, and Andy Taylor and Andy Austin making their day.
Elsewhere, Inter Barrow lost 6-2 at Bank of America. Kev Garland netted the consolation for the Greyhound as the Gardeners went one better in a 2-1 win.
Doubles from Andrew Peters and Nathan Freeman helped secure a 4-1 winning scoreline from Bromfield against Boughton Hall.
At Barrow, Section B side Custom House won through at the expense of Dee Rangers in a fine 5-2 extra time win, while Western Rangers knocked out St Theresa's with an emphatic 7-1 success.
On the league scene, Castrol Swan took an early lead against Section A leaders, Lache Park, but the home side responded with goals from Andy Callaghan (2), Nathan Mapletoft and Mikey Edwards to defeat The Swans 4-2, while Blacon Social beat Vicars Cross 3-1.
In Section C, Carlton found the going tough against the Red Lion who swamped them with a 14-0 victory.
