RHOS UNITED stay top of the Clwyd League Premier Division after an Ed Haley hat-trick helped them to a 4-4 draw with St Asaph.
In what promised to be an entertaining match between the two promoted sides, St Asaph got off to the better start with two goals from the in-form Duncan Midgley.
Rhos pulled one back just before the break, with a neat passing move culminating in Jay Lynch teeing up Haley who scored from six yards out.
The goal rallied United, who came out fired up for the second half; Josh Jones racing through early on to slot a cool finish into the back of the net.
Shortly after, Ed Haley found space in the area, turning to find the bottom corner to give Rhos the lead.
St Asaph’s Paul Fleming levelled matters with a powerful shot into the top corner, and Midgley completed his hattrick to restore their lead.
But the feat was equalled by man of the match Haley, who capitalised on a goalkeeping error to finish the scoring at 4-4.
