SAUGHALL bounced back to winning ways with a resounding 162 run home victory against Kerridge.

The visitors  bowled first and reduced Saughall to 37 for four with Chris Andrews (21) the only batsman to threaten to break the shackles.

Run machine Adam Griffiths rescued Saughall and he was once again the backbone of the innings, scoring 86 not out while Shaun Watts notched a superb 56 not out as the pair added an unbeaten 152 fifth wicket partnership.

Saughall, who are now second in the Cheshire League Division Five table, finished on 189 for four and despite plundering 297 the week before, Kerridge were undone by Saughall skipper Alen Roberts.

Roberts went on to grab 5-12 as Kerridge were reeling at 14 for eight.

Spinner Chris Andrews played his part with 4-15 as the visitors were dismissed for just 28.

Chester County Officers had a good afternoon with their firsts and seconds both winning.

Mark Flanagan (3-23) and Steve Johnson (3-41) bowled the Officers to victory against Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge in Division Three of the Cheshire League. Cheadle were bowled out for 101 before Alex Whittle (37) led the fourth-placed Officers to 102 for eight.

Officers Seconds were in Division C West action where Steve Holland starred with 51 and three wickets in a 50 run win over The Groves.

Daniel Haynes’ 64 helped Officers to 181 for nine while The Groves crept to 131 for seven, Declan Hickey taking 3-15.

In the same division, John Scott smashed 81 in Chester Boughton Hall Fourths’ 210 for four. Frodsham Seconds reached 146 for two in reply.

In the Cheshire County League 2nd XI Premier Division, Charlie Fleet returned stunning figures of 7-12 from 10 overs for Boughton Hall.

Robin Fisher took two wickets as Hyde hung on at 101 for nine.

That was in response to Hall's 193 for nine, which included 55 not out from number nine Dan Riley.

The victory sees second-placed Hall now nine points behind leaders Toft.

In Division A of the Cheshire League, Christleton Seconds tied with Irby.

Christleton posted 162 for nine with Irby responding with 162 for eight, Matt Jones taking 4-45.

In Division B West, Barrow Seconds lost out by 92 runs to Oxton Fourths, who batted first and hit 231.

Andy Morrison took 6-54 for Barrow, who were dismissed for 139.
