The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were joined by a number of Hollywood stars at the Wimbledon men’s singles final on Sunday.

They were in the royal box to see Novak Djokovic claim a three-set victory over South African Kevin Anderson.

But the Serb did not appear too pleased with all that was happening on court, at one point seeming to swear towards the crowd.

The four-time champion seemed to get frustrated with the spectators supporting Anderson, and asked the umpire to get involved when he was up 5-4 in the third set at deuce.

William was sitting between Prime Minister Theresa May, who wore a blue cotton summer dress, and his wife, who wore a bright yellow one.

Kate accessorised her dress with a small purple and green bow brooch to mark her position as Patron of the Championships.

During breaks in the match Kate and William turned and animatedly talked to Australian tennis legend Rod Laver.

After Djokovic won Kate appeared to tell him: “Very well done.”

When Djokovic asked how Princess Charlotte and Princes George and Louis were, William told him: “Very well thanks. We try to get a tennis racquet in their hands, and a football…”

The exchange came after Djokovic told the royal couple of his joy at lifting the trophy in front of his son.

After his victory the 31-year-old said on court: “It feels amazing because for the first time in my life I have someone screaming, ‘daddy, daddy’.

“He’s under five years old so he couldn’t watch the matches live but we were hoping if this happens, if I hold the trophy, that he could be there to witness it, so I couldn’t be happier.

“I’m very emotional for him being there, and my wife obviously and my whole team.”

Also watching from the royal box were Philip May, and actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Hiddleston and Eddie Redmayne.

Before play started Hiddleston said: “I am very much looking forward to it – all of it.”

London mayor Sadiq Khan, Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor and Bjorn Borg also had seats in the royal box.

Anderson, 32, went into the match after a marathon semi-final lasting six hours and 36 minutes against John Isner on Friday.

Djokovic, 31, took five and a quarter hours, over two days, to secure victory over Rafael Nadal but he needed just two hours and 19 minutes to take the win on Saturday.

However, despite the quick pace of the match which started at 2pm, it still clashed with the 4pm kick off of the World Cup final.

Acknowledging this, Wimbledon tweeted asking: “Wherever you are in the world, send us your double screen set up for the final day.”

Kate also attended the tournament on Saturday, with the Duchess of Sussex as her guest.

Meghan was cheering on her good friend Serena Williams as she played Angelique Kerber.

But the American lost in straight sets, failing in her bid for an eighth ladies’ singles title.
