RETIRING Ellesmere Port Mayor Nicole Meardon signed off her year of service with a 300ft bungee jump fundraiser on Sunday.
Cllr Nicole Meardon reached new heights as she jumped off the top of the crane and has so far raised more than £1,000 for the Ellesmere Port Mayor's Charity Fund.
Cllr Meardon said: "I was terrified when I reached the top of the crane but managed to keep it together.
"Once I felt the tension of the bungee rope, I began to enjoy just bouncing and swinging around! It was really exhilarating and a lot of fun.
"I'm so pleased to have raised over £1,000 from the Justgiving page and other donations. I can't believe how generous people have been and am truly grateful."
People can still donate to the fundraiser online at www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/mayor-ellesmereport.
Labour councillor for Whitby Karen Shore has succeeded Cllr Meardon as the new mayor of Ellesmere Port.
