PEOPLE in Ellesmere Port are being warned to be on their guard following a reported distraction burglary in the town.
The incident happened on Princess Road at around 2.50pm yesterday (Thursday, May 17) and was said to involve two men in a white van.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said a resident had reported seeing two men acting suspiciously outside the home of an elderly neighbour.
"It appears two men have gone inside the property and had a look around but didn't take anything," he said. "Enquiries are ongoing."
Police officers tweeted today: "Requesting increased vigilance following a reported distraction burglary targeting a vulnerable person in PRINCESS ROAD. Two men in a white van believed involved. Look out for your neighbours / relatives."
