A JOBLESS forklift truck driver who posted anti-Muslim Facebook rants following the Westminster terror attack last year has been warned he faces a jail sentence.

Judge Timothy Petts told Sean Maguire, 49, of North Street, Sealand: “These are serious offences. The language you used was horrific and disgusting.”

He was bailed at Caernarfon Crown Court pending a pre-sentence report but Judge Petts said: “Deterrence has to play an important part in sentencing. I have in mind a custodial sentence.”

Maguire was convicted by a jury of two offences of publishing material intending to stir up religious hatred. He had denied the charges.

Barrister David Potter, prosecuting, said on the day of the terror attacks on Westminster Bridge and Parliament last March Maguire wrote on Facebook: “Time to start fighting back. Kill all Muslims.’’ Two days later he posted: “Well people we have all seen the horror that happened in London. What will it take before we say enough is enough?"

Maguire said his Facebook posts were all linked to terror attacks. “It was just for my benefit, it made me feel good at the time,” he told the jury.

“I wasn’t bothered if people agreed or disagreed with it.”

The prosecution said Maguire had 661 Facebook “friends” and he had published posts which could be seen freely.
