UPTON Drama Society are busy preparing to perform their latest play.

They will be presenting Death in High Heels at Upton Village Hall from Wednesday, March 21, to Saturday, March 24, at 7.30pm.

A spokesman said: “The play was written by Richard Harris and based on the novel by Christianna Brand.

“It is set in a small elegant couture house in London during the late 1930s and revolves around Mr Bevan, the owner, and his staff. There is due to be an announcement about who he will choose to manage his new branch in Deauville, France.

“Several of the staff would love to be offered the job, but who will be chosen and what will be the consequences of Bevan's choice?

“Lurking behind this superficial facade of the couture gowns and elegance, it is apparent that some amongst them have secrets of which, unfortunately, others are aware! There is also great rivalry amongst some of them and bitchiness inevitably abounds!

“One amongst them suddenly dies, but is it natural causes, suicide, or murder? Enter the deceptively casual Inspector Charlesworth and his no-nonsense Sergeant.

“The rest? Come along and see!”

Tickets are available from Bache Post Office or on 01244 382174.
