THERE were huge queues as bargain hunters flocked to a closing-down sale at Chester’s oldest jewellers.
Lowe and Sons on Bridge Street Row has been trading continuously in the city centre for 248 years. But it will soon close down and a sale offering 50% discount on stock began on Saturday, drawing in hundreds of shoppers over the weekend.
Managing director Richard Hogben said: ‘It’s a testament to the reputation of Lowe and Sons that people have turned out in such numbers. We look forward to welcoming customers old and new over the coming weeks.”
The sale will continue for as long as the stock lasts, with 50% off everything, including engagement rings, diamond jewellery and earrings.
