One of Chester's top male voice choirs is open to new members for their forthcoming concert season, including an event starring rising star Phoebe Cheffings.

The Chester Male Voice Choir, founded in 1941, is gearing up for a packed year of events and are looking to hear from interested men, regardless of age or background, especially those often overlooked in choirs.

Their preparation is underway for the annual Spring Festival concert at Chester's St Columba's Church on May 17th at 7pm, where special guest, musical theatre artist Phoebe Cheffings, will star.

Speaking of the upcoming Spring concert, Ron Webster, the Chair of Chester Male Voice Choir, said: "I am delighted to announce the guest artist for our upcoming Spring Festival Concert is Pheobe Cheffings, a wonderful young singer who at only 13 years old, has already starred in many musical productions."

He stated: "We have recently expanded our concert repertoire with a plethora of new pieces to please all age groups."

Mr Webster also said: "Tickets are available now via our website or from Chester visitor centre at Chester Town Hall."

However, he also added: "With a busy year of concerts and events ahead and led by our talented music team headed by our Musical Director Joe Mann, we are excited to begin to present our new repertoire.

"We will be encouraging young talent to perform with us and are keen to welcome new members, especially those men from underrepresented groups within the Chester area."

Besides the Spring concert, the choir plans events like a concert tour of the Isle of Man and a grand concert at Chester Town Hall with members of Perth Male Voice Choir from Australia.
