MOTORISTS are facing long delays following a multi-vehicle crash on the M56 this afternoon (Tuesday, May 7).
The incident closed two lanes eastbound between Elton and Runcorn.
National Highways North West has said all lanes have since reopened but delays of up to 45 minutes remain.
A spokesperson said: "There are still delays of 45 mins above normal travel time in the area so please allow time for delays to clear."
Google's live traffic maps show congestion stretches from near Costco (A5117 junction) to Helsby.
