A TOP Chester restaurant has welcomed a new head chef and restaurant manager.

The Forge, on Grosvenor Park Road, has built a reputation on high quality dishes cooked with wild, sustainable British ingredients including dry aged beef, its popular wild venison courses and seafood.

New Head Chef, David Skerry has worked in Michelin starred restaurants, on six-star cruise liners and even at Buckingham Palace.

He will also launch the restaurant’s new seasonal menu on May 2.

David said: “My passion for cooking began in 2006 as a Kitchen Porter while studying Law. I left the court room for the kitchen and worked up to Head Chef by 26.

“My journey has seen me work in Thomas Keller’s kitchen on a cruise line, at one of Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-starred restaurants, and even in Buckingham Palace.

“The Forge Restaurant seemed like the perfect fit for my next chapter. With a fantastic kitchen and team, I'm excited about the limitless possibilities ahead.”

Joining him at The Forge, will be new Restaurant Manager, Callum Walsh.

Callum said: “With six years of experience of Restaurant Management, I'm forward to taking my career to the next level at The Forge.

“I have a passion for hospitality and nothing makes me happier than smiling guests leaving after a great dining experience.

“The Forge’s reputation for excellence and creating unforgettable guest experiences aligns perfectly with mine and I can't wait to continuing to exceed our diners' expectations here at The Forge.”
