PHIL PARKINSON hailed the way his Wrexham side have turned their away form around after registering another victory on their travels.

Wrexham made the trip to Crewe Alexandra on Saturday having already secured automatic promotion from League Two and the Reds produced an excellent performance, registering a 3-0 victory at Gresty Road.

First-half goals from Ollie Palmer and top scorer Paul Mullin left Parkinson's men in control and there was no let-up after the break, with Andy Cannon getting in on the act after play-off contenders Crewe were reduced to 10 men.

A lot has been made of Wrexham's record on their travels but the Reds have won five of their last nine matches away from The Racecourse, picking up two draws and losing just twice, and Parkinson was pleased to sign off with another win in the final match of the season on the road.

"It was a very professional performance from us," said Parkinson.

"We spoke to the lads about finishing our away campaign off in continuation of how we've done recently away from home and we've done that.

"It is never going to be easy when you come up against a team fighting to secure their play-off status but the lads were outstanding.

"In the last nine away games we have taken 17 points and our mentality has got stronger on our travels so I am very pleased with that.

"But also for the integrity of the division, teams would have be looking at this result and needed us to come and play well, and we certainly did that."

Wrexham, guaranteed a top-three finish with two games to go after thrashing Forest Green Rovers 6-0 the previous weekend, complete the campaign at home to champions Stockport County on Saturday.
