AN EPISODE of the new BBC series of Celebrity Escape to the Country will see the scenic landscape of Cheshire explored by two Strictly stars.

A spin-off of the successful propery show which sees couples attempt to find their perfect home away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Celebrity Escape to the Country will feature Janette Manrara and Aljaž Škorjanec as they launch their search in Cheshire.

Celebrity Escape to the Country welcomes an exciting host of well-known faces hoping to make a countryside relocation including the nation’s favourite panto dame and King of the Jungle, Christopher Biggins; Bucks Fizz popstar, Cheryl Baker; TV health professional, Doctor Ranj Singh; and TV quiz sensation, Jenny Ryan AKA ‘The Vixen’ from The Chase.

The synopsis for Janette and Aljaž's episode reads: "Sonali Shah heads to seriously chic Cheshire with our modern-day ‘Fred & Ginger’, Janette & Aljaž who are combing the countryside for their forever family home. They discover beautiful properties that blend period charm with contemporary design and also indulge in a spot of Strictly Come Prancing with some miniature ponies."

First launching in 2002, the BBC’s longest running property show Escape to the Country has showcased an idyllic look into rural Britain’s property market, giving urban homeowners an insight into a prospective country life. The new series will see celebrity house hunters explore the serene landscapes and lifestyles of the Home Counties, Cheshire, Peak District, Lancashire, Kent and Sussex.

John Comerford, Head Naked West, the show's production company, said: "We love helping prospective rural dwellers find their dream homes and we’re delighted the BBC have commissioned this special series giving us all an insight into our favourite celebrities’ lives as they look to swap the city for a new home in the country."
