More details are emerging about the man who lost his life in tragic circumstances at Chester Zoo.
The man was killed when he was trapped under a double decker bus in the zoo's car park at lunchtime on Wednesday.
He has been named locally and on social media as Wayne Lannon, a 46-year-old father-of-three from Wigan.
Mr Lannon is a mechanic and is understood to have been working on the bus when he became trapped under it. The vehicle is believed to have been empty at the time.
A Cheshire Police spokesman confirmed yesterday that investigations were ongoing into the incident.
The police, fire and ambulance services attended and Mr Lannon was pronounced dead at the scene. The Health and Safety Executive was informed.
Mark Pilgrim, chief executive officer at Chester Zoo, said: “Our thoughts and sympathies are very much with his family and all involved.”
