Staff reporter (Chester First)

A DEDICATED member of the Chester Lions has proved himself a roaring success for the club over the last 45 years.

Alan Webb, who joined the club in his early 30s, has been honoured for his continued service to the community.

He is now retired but used be a director at the Institute of Marketing, specialising in sales training.

Club chairman Peter Upton said: “Alan’s a tremendous worker within Chester Lions and is tireless in his efforts within our local community.

“I have nothing but admiration and wish I could find more like him.”

A family man who lost his wife some years ago, Alan has a son, an artist who is living in California, and a daughter who lives in Essex.

The whole family met up recently at Alan’s home in Lache Lane for a family weekend and then they all travelled together to Scotland for the opening of the Commonwealth Games.

Anyone interested in joining the club can contact Mr Upton on 07818 068 088.
