A MAN from Chester was treated in hospital for five days following an assault in the city centre.
Police have now released CCTV images of two men they wish to speak to in relation to the attack.
The 28-year-old victim and a friend were walking along White Friars at about 2.30am when they were approached by a group of men.
He was knocked unconscious before the group headed off towards Bridge Street.
The first man police wish to contact is described as slim and about 6ft tall.
He is said to be aged 22-30, with an athletic build and short black hair gelled forward.
The second is aged 30-40, with a heavy build, dark hair and thick eyebrows.
DC Kevin Green, from Chester CID, said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Bridge Street or Pepper Street area at the time of the assault, or who recognises the men in the CCTV images, to come forward to assist us with our investigation.”
A police spokesman confirmed the victim was now making a “slow recovery” at home having spent five days in hospital after the attack on Thursday, May 1. Anyone with information is asked to call the Cheshire Police non-emergency number 101 quoting incident number 52 of 1/5/2014.
