HUMAN remains have been discovered next to the River Dee.
North Wales Police said at about 2.15pm this afternoon (Friday) they were alerted to the discovery of remains by an off duty Cheshire Police officer.
The officer was walking the banks of the Dee in Ferry Lane, Higher Ferry, Chester.
Police search team officers working on the continuing search for missing vet Catherine Gowing were alerted to the discovery and coordinated the response and recovery.
A police spokesman said the remains have been recovered and the scene secured pending a forensic examination and further detailed search. A post mortem will be carried out.
The find follows the discovery of human remains in a pool within a field known as The Lum, next to Manor Road in Sealand, on Wednesday.
