THE Forum Studio Theatre in Chester has been shortlisted for an award for the second year running.
The theatre – established by Tip Top Productions in 2007 – has been nominated for the visitor attraction of the year prize in the Marketing Cheshire Awards 2012.
Based in the former Gateway Theatre building, the venue hosts Tip Top’s full programme together with regular performances by other community theatre groups and touring professional companies.
Tip Top Productions spokesman Paul Crofts said: “We are delighted our efforts to keep the flag flying for live theatre in Chester city centre have been recognised in this way.
“The judges were impressed by our nomination which they said showed passion and commitment. We are now keeping our fingers crossed for the awards ceremony which takes place in November.
“As a volunteer organisation, we are extremely grateful for the continued support given to us by the theatre-going public of Chester, Cheshire and the wider area.”
The theatre will be hosting various events as part of Chester Literature Festival throughout October along with Limelight Productions presentation of Under Milk Wood.
