City's early screening of latest Bond blockbuster

FILM fans are set to be shaken and stirred with Chester chosen to host one of the first screenings of the new James Bond blockbuster.

Chester-born actor Daniel Craig returns as the secret agent in the hotly-anticipated Skyfall and Cineworld on Sealand Road will host a star-studded advance charity screening the day before the film’s general release.

Celebrities including Craig himself and the actor’s family have been invited to the exclusive screening on Thursday, October 25.

Stars from Coronation Street and Hollyoaks have also been invited along with many Bond-connected personalities.

Organiser Jane Harrad-Roberts, managing director of Marketing Projects, said: “We have been working on this since July when I wrote to producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, Daniel Craig’s agents, Sony and Eon productions.

“We have invited Daniel Craig to this star-studded event as we have twice before but understand he is very busy. We are hoping for third time lucky.

“Even if Daniel can’t make it, the Chester screening will include guests arriving in Aston Martins, a champagne reception before the screening and an after-show party at Cruise.
“We are also hoping selected restaurants and bars across the city will put on Bond themed pre-show meals and of course, cocktails.”

Craig will be joined by The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall at the world premiere on Tuesday, October 23 at the Royal Albert Hall.

Money raised from the Chester screening will go towards the NSPCC and it follows the success of the Casino Royale screening in the city in 2006 and Quantum of Solace in 2008.

Jane said: “This is an important, much needed event for the city given all the gloom and doom, documenting how individuals with belief in their talent, and by hard work and determination can make it from Chester to Hollywood.

“We all need to be inspired and I hope October 25 and Daniel Craig’s performance as a British icon will do this.”

The event at Cineworld starts at 7.30pm for an 8pm screening and tickets cost £35 which includes entrance to the after-show party at Cruise nightclub, St John Street.

Tickets can be bought at http://skyfallchester. and more details are available at projects.
