TRIBUTES have been paid to a “kind and caring man” found stabbed in his home.

Police officers discovered the body of Andrew MacKenzie Nall, 54, at his flat in Eversley Park at 8.15pm on Friday, August 31.

Rangers FC supporter Mr Nall was known locally as ‘Scottish Andy’ and used to work for Northgate Street greengrocer Francis Thomas.

Mr Nall’s family released a statement through Cheshire Police paying tribute to him.

It said: “Andrew was a kind and caring man, much loved by his partner, family and friends.

“His loss in such tragic circumstances has left many heavy hearts and he will be sadly missed.

“We would like to thank the people involved in the case for their hard work on his behalf.”

Cheshire Police have charged Gary Anthony George, 41, with the murder of Mr Nall.

George, of Nicholas Street, was not asked to enter a plea when he appeared at Chester Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

He was remanded in custody and will appear at Chester Crown Court later this month for a preliminary hearing.
