UNEMPLOYMENT in Chester has fallen for the sixth month in a row.
Figures released this week show unemployment is continuing to fall in in the city and across the region.
The number of people seeking employment in Chester last month was at its lowest level this year.
Chester MP Stephen Mosley said: “It is fantastic to see another fall in unemployment in our city and to see so many new companies setting up in Chester.
“It is a vote of confidence in our city and the government’s economic strategy.”
Figures have also been released showing an increase in the number of new companies formed in Chester in June with 103 new companies formed in the city compared to 68 companies last June.
Mr Mosley said: “The work the government are doing to ensure Britain is ‘open for business’ and to redress the north south imbalance in the economy, alongside the work that the council are doing to take our city forwards, is ensuring Chester is well placed to benefit from economic growth.”
