Body in Broxton woodland 'not suspicious' say police

THE death of a man whose body was found in woodland is not being treated as suspicious, say police.

A member of the public made a call to emergency services about a collapsed man in woodland near to the Egerton Arm, Broxton, at about 10.45pm on Monday. On arrival police found the body of a man in his 50s who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family of the dead man has been informed and a post mortem examination has taken place.

Cheshire Police spokesman Shelley Williams said: “At this stage police are not treating the death as suspicious.

“Cheshire Police continue to conduct inquiries on behalf of HM Coroner.”

Officers are appealing for the 999 caller to get in touch.
