FIREFIGHTERS were called out to a car fire in a village near Chester.

At about 7.30am yesterday (Friday, August 21) a fire crew from Chester attended Firecrest Way in Kelsall following reports of the blaze.

The fire, which involved the interior of a BMW, was out on arrival.

Firefighters used a hose reel jet to cool the area affected by the fire down and a thermal imaging camera to monitor temperatures and look for hotspots.

They stripped down part of the car to check for residential heat.

The crew were in attendance for about 45 minutes.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
