A MAN has been cleared of four charges involving his partner.

Scott Cooper, 31, of Hillside Avenue in Connah's Quay, had previously denied two assault charges, criminal damage and a threat to cause damage.

A trial was due to be held but the prosecution at Mold Crown Court offered no evidence.

Cooper had previously admitted a separate offence of criminal damage to a kitchen cupboard and ceiling light.

Barrister Simon Mintz, prosecuting, said the decision had been taken based on the welfare of the complainant who was pregnant with the defendant's child.

Judge Rhys Rowlands, who said the defendant had lost his temper at the time, recorded formal not guilty verdicts.

Defence barrister|Mark Connor said the defendant had already spent three months in custody.

Judge Rowlands imposed a two month sentence which, he said, Cooper had already served.
