CHESHIRE police officers are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage after a serious collision in Delamere.

The incident, which involved a blue Volvo V70 convertible and a black Kowasaki ZX motorcycle, occurred at approximately 2.15pm on Sunday, October 7, on the A556 Chester Road.

The driver of the car, a 75-year-old man from Delamere, and the motorcyclists, a 47-year-old man from Westbrook, both sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.

Fire crews were among the emergency services to respond, helping to free a casualty from the car.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Firefighters from Tarporley and Northwich attended a road traffic collision on Chester Road in Delamere.

"On arrival crews found that the collision involved two vehicles, a car and a motorcycle, and one person was trapped in the car.

"The team used specialist equipment to release the casualty from the vehicle, they were then passed to the care of North West Ambulance Service.

"Crews were on scene for one hour and 35 minutes."

The men were both taken to Aintree Hospital where they are both in a serious condition.

Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who believes they have any dashcam footage of the incident itself or any footage of the vehicles in the minutes prior to the collision.
