A SELFLESS schoolgirl from Chester has had her lovely locks lopped off for charity.

Layla Banks, aged eight, went for the chop at Hair Parade in Blacon as she wanted to give her hair to Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides wigs to children and young people who are undergoing treatment for cancer.

Mum Nicola told The Standard: “She came to me by herself and said ‘I’d like to give my hair to little girls who need it’. It was all her idea – I was so proud of her.

“She loves her new hair style too and she looks very grown up! She wants to spread the word and let people know about the charity.”

Layla, who is in Year 4 at Dee Point Primary School, had her hair cut free of charge by Hair Parade, who were very impressed with her.
