RUSH-HOUR commuters using the M53 are advised to expect delays following a one-vehicle collision near the junction for the National Waterways Museum in Ellesmere Port.
The incident, which was reported to police at 3.37pm, is on the northbound carriageway towards junction 10 and queues are heading back towards Cheshire Oaks.
It involved a Ford Transit Tipper van and one of the back wheels came off.
Police say the driver of the van was taken to hospital for a check-up while the two passengers are believed to be fine.
The slip road had been completely closed along with the northbound carriageway but one lane has since reopened.
However, one lane on the slip road and lane one of two on the northbound carriageway remain closed due to the collision.
Highways England said: "Please take care on approach, our Highways North West traffic officers and North West Motorway Police are on scene."
Paramedics were also deployed to the scene.
