A FIRE in a wheelie bin in Ellesmere Port is believed to have been started deliberately.
A fire crew from the Ellesmere Port station was called to Sandringham Gardens just before 2.50am today (Wednesday, July 18) after reports of a fire near a garden wall.
The source of the fire was found to be a wheelie bin.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "At around 2.50am firefighters were called to a report of a fire in the open near a house's garden wall at Sandringham Gardens in Ellesmere Port.
"The crew discovered that the fire involved a wheelie bin.
"Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and were in attendance for around 10 minutes.
"The fire is believed to have been started deliberately."
