AN inquest has been opened following the train track death on Deeside of a man from Ellesmere Port.

Robert Hartshorne, 51, died at Shotton Railway Station on Monday, July 9.

John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central, told a hearing held at County Hall in Ruthin that at about 3pm Mr Hartshorne placed himself in direct collision with a train.
