AN AMBULANCE patient transport service team successfully stepped up to the challenge in raising hundreds of pounds for a cancer charity.
The group of 18 from the West Midlands Ambulance's patient transport service in Ellesmere Port reached the peak of Mount Snowdon recently to raise money for The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity on the Wirral.
After all the money was counted, a total of £1,800.35 has been collected for the cancer charity, which treats patients across Merseyside, Wirral and Cheshire.
Team member Dave Wilson previously explained: "We decided to do this as Clatterbridge is a really good hospital. We take patients there every day and a few of us got together in the canteen to see what we could do to raise money for them."
After the trek, Dave added: "I would just like to thank everyone for their kind donations support and effort.
"It was a great day even though at the top of the mountain the words 'never again' were often heard! "

West Midlands Ambulance Service took over the running of the non-emergency patient transport service for Cheshire, Warrington and Wirral in July 2016.
