SPECTACULAR scarecrows adorned village gardens in Eccleston last Sunday as part of the community's open gardens day.
The village scarecrow trail was a new addition for this year and offered family-themed fun in fine weather.
Winning first prize on the scarecrow trail were Bill and Jean Bradley.
There were also cake stalls, an ice cream bike, refreshments and plant stalls on the day.
Funds raised from the event went to Eccleston C of E Primary School, St Mary's Church, Motor Neurone Disease Association Chester and Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Development (Bird) Chester.
