A BODY was recovered from the River Dee in Chester on Wednesday evening with detectives treating the death as "unexplained".
Officers responded to reports that a body had been seen in the water near Sandy Lane at around 3.20pm on Wednesday, June 20.
With support from Cheshire Fire and Rescue service, they retrieved the body of a man from the river.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Enquiries are currently on-going to identify the man and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
"Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 99068."
