A LUXURY Cheshire retirement village operator is to host a panel discussion on health, happiness, inspiration and aspiration for the retirees of today and tomorrow.

The free event, hosted by Inspired Gifford Lea, will be chaired by BBC and ITV television presenter Gloria Hunniford OBE at Storyhouse in Chester on Saturday.

The panel will consist of GP Dawn Harper (This Morning TV presenter and author of 'Live Well to 101'), Rebecca Parker from Inspired Villages and a resident from Gifford Lea village in Tattenhall.

The discussion will have a varied focus, with topics ranging from the health benefits of a happy later life to what a community can do to prevent loneliness.

Audience members will also get the opportunity to contribute to the discussion, as part of a 'Question Time'-style segment of the event.

Questions and points to raise can be submitted prior to the discussion, which will be put forward for debate between panel members.

Rebecca Parker of Inspired Villages said: "The Inspired Villages Group model is based around facilitating a happy, independent later life.

"The panel discussion will be a great opportunity to discuss our philosophy – adventures, good health and happiness shouldn't stop in retirement.

"Investment from Legal & General in 2017 marked the first time that long-term institutional money had entered the UK's later living housing market.

"With increasing investments from businesses such as Legal & General into this new type of retirement housing, over 65s can instantly access a social life, wellness facilities and dining all at their own leisure."

Part of the Inspired Villages Group, Gifford Lea is a development of 48 retirement apartments at Tattenhall.

The first phase of the development is now build complete with limited properties still available, starting from £247,000 (T & C's apply). The second phase of the development, which is under construction, will see the opening of a wellness spa, swimming pool, bowling green, restaurant, licenced bar and library, as well as much more. Prices for Phase Two properties start at £219,000.
