A COUNTRY house luxury hotel on the outskirts of Chester is under new ownership.

North Wales hotel St George's in Llandudno has announced the acquisition of Rowton Hall Hotel and Spa in Rowton, Chester.

Rowton Hall Hotel is a four-star, 37-bedroom hotel set in eight acres of gardens and pastureland, with free parking and a helicopter pad.

Formerly a Georgian manor house built in the 18th century, the Chester hotel retains many of the original features, including the original carved wood winding staircase, oak-panelled corridors and Inglenook fireplace.

It features a spa with a health club, which includes a 12-metre indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room, as well as a gym, a croquet lawn and tennis courts.

Dining is in the oak panelled Langdale Restaurant, which uses the freshest ingredients and homegrown fruit and vegetables from the hotel's kitchen garden.

Each of the Luxury bedrooms, Junior suites and Master suites are individually decorated and equipped with every modern amenity including satellite television, free wireless internet access, a personal safe and luxury bathrobes.

A Spa with four luxury treatment rooms with showers in each. The Health Club has a 12 metre Indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, sauna and steam room and well-equipped gymnasium. Outdoors, there is croquet lawn and two floodlit tennis courts.

There are four main event suites for up to 200 guests, with smaller rooms available as syndicate rooms.
