CHESHIRE police have launched an investigation following a fatal collision near Nantwich.

The collision between a red motorbike and a blue Mazda 5 occurred shortly after 11am on Sunday, June 17, on the A530, Middlewich Road, in Alvaston.

The incident occurred near to the near to junction of Colleys Lane and at the time of the collision both of the vehicles were travelling towards Middlewich.

Sadly the motorcyclist, a 58-year-old man from Newcastle-Under-Lyme, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the car, a 47-year-old man from Tarporley, was uninjured and no arrests have been made.

Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 96255.
