AN ELLESMERE PORT chemicals firm has helped raise more than £1,700 for the town's hospital.
Innospec Chemicals recently held a charity bingo event raising £585 for the Ellesmere Port Hospital.
The amount raised was then boosted through the Innospec Cares program, which match funds raised by employees on a £2 for every £1 raised.
This boosted the amount donated to the charity to the grand total of £1,755.
The cheque was presented to staff on Poppy Ward by Mairead Dyke, tenant manager and charity co-ordinator for Innospec.
The money raised will be used to buy a Coaguchek Pro, a special blood analysis machine that gives blood sugar results instantly.
Lesley Woodhead, head of fundraising, said: "It was great to meet Mairead at the hospital and to hear about the great care that her mum has received after a recent stay on Poppy Ward.
"The blood machine will make a real difference to patient care and so it was a really positive fundraising effort – thanks also to Innospec for doubling their hard work."
