A section of the M53 remains closed after a woman died in a bridge fall.
Merseyside Police tweeted shortly after 2am today (Tuesday, May 29) that officers were dealing with an incident on the M53 between junctions four and five (from Moss Hey to Hooton).
Following the incident a police spokesman added: "M53 will be closed Northbound at junction five and Southbound from junction four until further notice.
"Signpost and diversions are in place. Please find alternative routes."
Traffic Wales has reported the closure is still in place and commuters have been warned of congestion in the area.
