THE mayor of Ellesmere Port is preparing to each dizzying new heights to boost her mayoral charity fund.

Cllr Nicole Meardon will do what she calls "the scariest thing she's ever done" by completing a 300ft bungee jump on Saturday.

Writing on her Justgiving page, the mayor said: "As my year as mayor of Ellesmere Port comes to an end, I want to make sure I raise as much money as possible for the good causes I am supporting.

"So, I've decided to push myself to my limits and do a bungee jump – and this is not just any bungee jump but a 300ft jump!

"I hope to raise funds for West Cheshire Foodbank, Ellesmere Port and Neston Association of Voluntary and Community Organisations, the Oasis Youth Centre and 1st Sutton (Wirral) Scout Group.

"These are all wonderful organisations that do so much for our town. There are so many people who volunteer their time to help others in our community and I hope I can raise funds for these great organisations so that they can continue their fantastic work.

"Deciding to do this bungee jump was not easy. I will be completely out of my comfort zone and probably scared stiff!

"So please make it worthwhile and sponsor me."
